Week One- Social Media

Have you ever felt the desire to expand your musical interests but felt cornered in by the same overplayed three minutes of melody that you listen to each day? BeatzBurne is a social media profile that will introduce you to new artists, songs, and albums through your own followers and friends. Once users create an account they must develop a playlist of their favorite songs and artists. This playlist will help friends and followers understand what kind of music the user enjoys, making song suggestions more accurate to the user's taste. The highlight of BeatzBurne is that the music being recommended for our users is by personal friends or followers who know what kind of music the user can vibe. Every time logging onto BeatzBurne the website will prompt the questions "What are you listening to?" and the user can choose an option to create a new playlist or just simply post a single song that they are listening to today. Playlists can range from the mood the user wearing that day to a special event coming up that needs music to fill the airwaves. This feature is advantageous because if users are following others of similar or diverging musical interests they can test out different music to see if they are intrigued by it or not. The way BeatzBurne shares media files is through YouTube, this way bands and artists do not have illegally downloaded files of their artwork floating around. YouTube also makes BeatzBurne user friendly since users do not have to deal with the time consuming nuisance that is uploading a file to the internet.
Bands also have the capability of creating a profile for fans to follow. Their playlists can include anything from musical influences of the band, songs the band currently is listening to, or even songs they are in the process of concocting at the moment. Users as well as bands have the ability to share images live from concerts through their smart phone devices to let individuals experience the musical realm through a new set of eyes. The website also keeps track of what bands the user is monitoring the most frequently and will inform the user about concerts in the vicinity of the user's home. Users and bands have the ability to blog about concerts, songs, albums, song meanings etc and other users can comment on the forum to share ideas. Users can mold anything out of the forums on BeatzBurne. From looking for a new drummer in a band, to forming a band, figuring out a band name, finding someone to attend a concert with, asking about how to go about meeting an artist after a show, the number of possibilities to make connections through melody are infinite. BeatzBurne is creating a breakthrough way for individuals to discover and make music. Never before have bands had the opportunity to come together to discuss formulating a musical group over the internet. With BeatzBurne's video chat feature, each member of the band can join live to hear what the guitar rifts sound like, the drum pieces thrash, and the vocals come together as one. The users can be miles apart but they are creating music together! The forums are open to free discussion from the band's profiles to the user's profiles. Bands have the ability to talk one on one with fans, and fans have the opportunity to pose questions to bands through BeatzBurne.
BeatzBurne is more advantageous than Pandora because the user is being offered musical suggestions by actual friends and followers rather than a computer. BeatzBurne is socially engaging. Users can chat with followers and friends either over a forum or live individual chat about different live concerts they have attended, what music they are listening to right now, or what a specific song means to an individual. The website will be linked to Facebook  and Google Plus so when a person completes a playlist or mentions a new song they are interested in, Facebook and Google Plus users will be alerted of the website and are free to join the Beatz at BeatzBurne as well. Social attention plays a huge role in BeatzBurne's development because it is so dependent on individuals relaying their musical interests to followers and proposing new music to friends. Through the involvement with huge social media websites such as YouTube, Google Plus, and Facebook, BeatzBurne will gain more awareness because it will be advertised on people's profiles. YouTube will receive view hits on their website for every individual time a user listens to the YouTube link. Bands have the option to block videos from being shared on BeatzBurne if they feel the need to do so. Social attention is vital to the growth of BeatzBurne and will be the reason for the rise of musical evolution everywhere! Social media is paramount in the advancement in BeatzBurne.

  1. I think you are off to a good start. As you keep going along with this project, i would encourage you to look into the products that Facebook is looking to release in the near future. They are looking for ways to allow individuals to share what they are listening to with their networks effectively.

  2. I think your idea is awesome! I could definitely see this as something people of our generation would enjoy using. Everyone loves music and is always looking for new bands to listen to. I like that this always has a section for the artists themselves. It makes interaction between them and those who listen to their music so easy. I would love to know who my favorite artists have on their iPod because i would most likely enjoy that music too.
