Week Four- Input and Output

RFID tags hold a much better value than barcodes in the world of music. Beatzburne has aspirations to turn into a physical store, selling band t-shirts, cd albums, vinyl albums, and much more music related items. When consumers come into the Beatzburne store RFID chips will be used on every item to make sure if the item is in stock, where it is located in the store, how much the item costs, and when it will be on sale. RFID tags on the items will make the customer's experience much more enjoyable as it will make navigating the store much easier, purchasing will be much faster, and knowledge of stock will be easier to access. Barcodes are becoming outdated as it needs a clear line of site to be scanned. RFID tags on the other hand will make the buying experience much faster because the line of site is not required to scan. The RFID tags used would be passive. Although this technology is still in its infancy and it is not entirely secure, the Beatzburne store will not be available for another few years. By this time RFID tags are assumed to be developed and secure for the costumer buying process.
At the Beatzburne store, fans will also be able to print out their favorite concert photo for a price. The fan will have to know the resolution of the photo to know the maximum print size. The printer being used is three hundred dots per inch (DPI) which means the quality and crispness of the image will be improved. Although at 200 DPI the photo can be blown up to be a larger image, Beatzburne believes that quality matters more than the size of the image.
Once Beatzburne is developed the usage of Google Wallet will have revolutionized the buying experience. Beatzburne will accept both credit cards and Google Wallet at the store. With the combined efforts of Google Wallet and RFID tags the line at the cashier will be virtually nothing!
QR codes will also be located at concert events and festivals attached with Beatzburne specials and promotionals located at the store.
The Beatzburne  store aspires to be a new-wave, higher technology, retail store. With the usage of QR codes for discounts at the store, RFID tags to make buying easier, a photo center to print out images, and accepting Google Wallet users, the Beatzburne buying experience will be like no other!

  1. Nice post -- I enjoy your idea regarding a means in which to leverage QR codes.

You mention a number of positive reasons for using an assortment of input/output devices, but have you thought about some of the potential negative impacts? For instance, would it be more costly to incorporate these technologies into your business? Or, would they ultimately save you money? Defending either position with data or examples from other companies, similar to your, would be very valuable.
